I read Trail of Lightning this month as part of the readalong hosted by Wyrd and Wonder hosts. I could not read along with others and could not discuss the book on the dates chosen by the hosts. I knew this month was going to be hectic at work, so I sped through the book in the beginning of this month when I had some free time. I have been too busy with a new project at work and have been unable to blog. I will not be able to blog much for the next couple of months I guess. This is the only book I have read so far from my fantasy TBR. But I am glad I was able to finish at least one book.
I am joining Imyril and some other wonderful bloggers on a journey through fantasy land this May as part of Wyrd and Wonder. If you would like to sign up or find out more details about this blogging event, please check out this post.
It’s still April 30th night in US but it is already May 1st in all the other parts of the world so I am posting this anyway.
April wasn’t such a good reading month for me. I went on vacation, work got really busy to the point of giving me headaches (literally) and I spent a lot of time outside basking in the spring sun. After the terrible winter, I was happy to be able to go to parks and do some outdoor activities. I enrolled my kid in a soccer class and evenings are spent either there or in the park. Because of this, my reading time got cut short. I am also trying to sleep early these days so that I can wake up early in the morning.
I went on a trip to Portland and got to visit Powell’s Bookstore, which is considered world’s biggest bookstore. I will have a detailed post up on that bookstore along with some pics. I bought three books there. See how good I am getting these days at resisting myself? Few years back, I would have bought 13 books from a bookstore that huge and amazing. Now I have developed a lot of self control. I read two out of these three books in April.
Feb was an okay month in terms of reading. I was in a fiction reading slump 🙂 I wanted to read more non-fiction for some reason. I only read one fantasy book in feb and everything else was non-fiction. I mostly read books on minimalism, productivity and food science. I read a total of 6 books.

Finally I am here with my Top 10 list of favorite books from 2018. I read many amazing books last year and it was difficult to come down with just 10 books for this list. But here is a list of 10 books that entered my favorites list, in no particular order –
Happy New Year guys! 2018 is finally over and 2019 is here. 2018 has been a great year for me personally as things improved on the career front and I got to make some international trips – UK and Mexico. Life was hectic but eventful. I even got to attend Worldcon this year. Here’s hoping that 2019 will be equally good.
December was a pretty busy month for me as I took a cruise to Mexico. More details will be coming soon in a separate post. I read 6 books in total in December.
Here are the books that I finished in December –
