One Republic and The Script concert

I wrote a post on One Republic band here and also cribbed about how I missed their concert last year. And then what do I see? I see an update that they are doing a tour again this year. This time I did not want to miss their concert. I immediately checked the venue and it was in Concord, which is far from where we stay. It would take us an hour to drive to that place. Since the show would go on until midnight, we will have to drive back in such an ungodly hour from a dangerous locality. I got strict NO from husband, when I brought up this idea of attending the concert. Also all the good seats were already taken, which would mean that we have to sit in some of the last rows. I gave up the idea and just resumed to the usual monologues – “you will not do anything for me”. This is my way of getting back at him, whenever he says no for anything.

Then one day, I opened my Facebook account just like that and saw an update from One Republic. The update said that since all the shows were already full and people were still interested in attending their concert, they have added more venues to their tour. I quickly opened the link and found Mountain View on it. I could not believe my eyes. This venue is pretty close to where we live, so there was no question of not going to the concert. I checked the concert date and realized that my parents will be here during that time.

One Republic

For some reason, I like boy bands a lot when it comes to music. I remember liking Backstreet boys to start with. They were the first American band that I loved. And then there were many but I never loved a band that much. I would listen to few songs and then move on to some other band. I guess Savage Garden was probably the only band that I really liked. I even had a post on them here.

Bryan Adams in India

Finally! I made up my mind and finished this post after like 2 weeks. Bryan Adams made a world tour and there was a show of his in Bengaluru recently. I had once bought tickets for a Celine Dion show, which got postponed 😦 I wanted to attend a Bon Jovi concert, but did not get company. This was the first rock concert I ever attended and thus ticked one more to-do item from my “things to do before I die” list. It was so freaking awesome and after I screamed sung songs with BA..ahem.. my throat was gone, my hands were paining from clapping non-stop and my heart was pounding so hard because of all the excitement that I wondered if it would tear my skin and drop itself on the ground 😛

Savage Garden

I am dedicating this post to my favourite band “Savage Garden”.. I love all their songs..

For people who havent heard this band, start with “I knew I loved you before I met you”.. The songs are so well-written and more than that, I love Darren Hayes’ voice.. He has such a sweet voice.. My favourite song is “Crash and Burn“..

I just love this stanza so much:

“When you feel all alone
And a loyal friend is hard to find
You’re caught in a one way street
With the monsters in your head
When hopes and dreams are far away and
You feel like you cant face the day

Let me be the one you call
If you jump I’ll break your fall……”
