I read the first book in this graphic novel series last year and loved it. I finally got hold of all the books and finished them this month by binge reading them. They are now one of my most favorite graphic novel series of all time. There are totally 6 books, but I got the master edition where each volume is a bind up of 2 books. This is written by Joe Hill, son of Stephen King so I went in with high expectations.
September wasn’t such a good reading month for me. I managed to read 3 small books, 1 DNF, 2 books on healthy diet and one graphic novel which I borrowed from my local library.
Jan was a great reading month for me as I read 9 books. I have never read that many books in a month, if I remember correctly. This was possible mostly because I read small books (200-400 pages long) and because I loved every single book I read this month. With books which are not that interesting, I find reasons to not read since I do not feel inclined to read them that quickly. But when the month is filled with 4 or 5 star reads, I tend to read more.
6 of these reads were from my physical TBR (yayy!) and 2 were ebooks and 1 physical book was borrowed from the library. I had borrowed 4 books from library this month. I only ended up reading one of the 4 and returned the rest of them unread since I just am not in the mood for non-fiction or graphical novels right now.
I couldn’t read a lot in June since life was little hectic. I did manage to read loads of comic books though. I read 3 novels and 7 comic books in June.
This month was quite busy so I read many comic books since I did not have time to read entire novels. Comic books consume less time and mental energy as they are easier to browse in an hour or so. Alex + Ada is a quite popular science fiction series which is about Alex, a human and Ada, who is an android/robot. This series is a short series with just 3 trade paperback volumes which can be read in few hours time.
So I returned my books from the earlier library book haul and got some more today to read in the holidays next week. One of the reasons for not borrowing books from the library is the strict deadline when you have to return books. Being a moody reader, I find it difficult to finish a book on time. That’s the reason for preferring to own books which you can keep down any number of times and pick up whenever you feel like reading again.
