June Reading Wrap Up

June was a pretty good reading month for me. I read some books which were on my May TBR and few other books which were not on any of my earlier TBRs. I just picked whatever caught my fancy. I read a total of 9 books but most of them were small in size.

Here are the books that I read in June –

Mid Year Book Freak Out Tag

I did this tag in the past and had lot of fun doing it, so I decided I will do it again this year. I have read 59 books so far this year, which is the highest amount I have read in the last few years. 2018 has been an amazing year in terms of reading.

April 2018 reading wrap up

April was an okay reading month but I mostly read comics. I was under stress (related to job) about which a separate update post will come soon. Because of the stress, I could not read much. But I still wanted to have my wrap up posted here since doing these wrap ups have resulted in me reading more books. I feel accountable for my reading somehow and that makes me finish books faster. I read a total of 8 books, out of which 5 were comics/graphic novels.

Scott Pilgrim Graphic Novels

Last month, I finally finished all the Scott Pilgrim graphic novels in the series by Bryan Lee O Malley. I started this series 7 years back when the movie first came out. This time, I decided I will read all the books and then watch the movie. So I did exactly that and felt that the books are better than the movie. Continue reading

March 2018 Wrap Up

March was not a good reading month since I hardly read any novels. I spent most of my time reading manga and comics. Life was really hectic and my brain did not have the power to process 600 page novels, which is why I chose the easy route of picking comics which can be read in couple of hours without spending much energy.
I read a total of 9 things in March, out of which one was a 600 paged tome and one was a novella. Rest of them were all comics and manga. I borrowed two books from the library and rest were books that I already owned. Some of these I got during my visit to Kinokuniya bookstore.

Kinokuniya Bookstore Visit

This is the second post in my series of posts on bookstores. Link to my previous bookstore visit post.

I first came to know about Kinokuniya bookstore when I enquired about Death Note funko pops at a Japanese store in a local mall. The shopkeeper asked me to check in the Kinokuniya bookstore. I visited a small local branch of this bookstore in South Bay which is inside a Japanese super market but I wasn’t that impressed with the manga collection there. Recently, during a visit to San Francisco, I checked their San Francisco branch and it was amazing.
