I watched the movie and then read the screenplay today. Every scene and dialogue in the book matches with what I saw on the screen. It was like watching the movie for the second time – but with my added imagination, making it even more awesome. The descriptions of the beasts and reading more about the beasts made reading the book worthwhile.
This is a non-spoiler review of the movie – The Butterfly Effect movie, which was released in 2004.
I love Sci-fi, especially the movies. Most of the movies that I have enjoyed watching are sci-fi movies. It helps that my family also loves Sci-fi a lot. Whether I am watching a movie with my mom or my husband, we end up watching only sci-fi most of the times.
Here are my favorite sci-fi movies which I can watch again and again, any number of times. I have excluded some movies which were adapted from the book and where the book was better than the movie (like The Martian). This is going to be a very long list of movies.
This post was pending from more than a year. I had drafted this post on Mar 4, 2015 @ 14:42 and the initial draft of this post was done on 16 Feb, 2015 @ 14:49. Whew! it has been lying in my drafts for more than a year. Today I was cleaning up all the draft posts, as there were many topics on which I did not want to write anymore. That was when I found this draft. I watched these movies last year and was planning to review them both. Hugh Grant is one of my most favorite actors. I mean, just look at him. Isn’t he one of the most handsome actors ever?! I watched these movies without reading any review or without any recommendation from anyone and still loved them. They are not so popular and well-known I feel and that was the reason why I wanted to review these underrated movies.
I am one of those few people (women) who did not like Pride and Prejudice novel. I know it is weird since everyone seems to like it.
I remember reading it for the first time when I was in high school after a friend recommended it to me. I found it extremely boring and I could not understand why people liked it so much. I still own that copy of this book. Recently (4 years back), I again tried reading the book. I thought since I was matured enough to understand the story, I might like it. But again after reading first few pages, I gave up thinking it was boring. I could not understand why women liked Mr. Darcy or Lizzy so much. I quit the 2005 movie adaptation midway as it was boring, while the husband slept off while watching the movie. It was that boring.
Today’s topic is Top Ten Book To Movie Adaptations I’m Looking Forward To or Ten Book To Movie Adaptations I Still Need To Watch. I love books and movies, so I like to watch movie adaptations of the books that I read. I am listing 10 books that haven’t been made into movies yet. I have read these books and would love to watch a movie adaptation of these books. But we are still not sure if these books will be made into movies and if so, when they would be made. My dad keeps recommending me movies from 1970s/60s which he enjoyed watching when he was in college/school. There were two movies that came highly recommended from him. I did not get a chance to watch these movies until recently. Sidney Poitier acted in both the movies and I just loved them! I had never seen any movie of his before and I think he is one of the best actors. The second movie listed here was remade in Bollywood with Vinod Khanna in it and probably also in some south Indian languages. But the original one in English is far better. There is less melodrama and it is more realistic. I am now planning to hunt for more movies by this actor. He is an academy award winner but he won Oscar for a completely different movie. I am yet to watch that movie.
Have you seen any of his movies?
