Favorite Books Of This Decade

I saw many people do this and I jumped on the bandwagon too. I started using Goodreads towards the end of 2010 so I thought of listing all the best books I read for every single year of the previous decade. These are not books that were released that year but instead these are just the books that I read for the first time, irrespective of their release date. I am not mentioning rereads in this list.

2010 – Dear John by Nicholas Sparks

I do not have a record of all the books I read this year or the year before this, since I only started using Goodreads in Nov 2010. So I have very few books on my GR list from 2010 and among those, this was the best. My first adult romance novel ever.

2011 – Foundation series : The Second Foundation by Issac Asimov

2012 – The Fault In Our Stars by John Green

2013 – The Storm of Swords by George R R Martin

2014 – The Silmarillion by J R R Tolkien

2015 – A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms by George R R Martin

2016 – Death Note series by Tsugumi Ohba (any book from the series)

2017 – Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte

2018 – Signal to Noise by Silvia Moreno-Garcia

2019 – The Dark Forest by Cixin Liu

  1. I just don’t like Sparks and John Green.. Somehow, haven’t been able to warm up to both those authors!
My favorite authors of this decade include – David Baldacci, Alexander McCall Smith, Steve Berry, J.K. Rowling and a few Doctor who authors (can’t remember the names!)
Who else? Let me recollect and come back!! LOL!
    Happy New year Avada! 🙂

    1. I read the new John Green book recently and did not like it. So I am not sure how well these two authors would stand up. I may not like their books now as I have matured more as a reader. Need to reread some of these books to see if I still like them.
Haven’t read most of your favorite authors. Need to check out their books.
      Happy new year Pixie!

    1. 2010 was when I got into Sci-fi properly. After reading Foundation series, there was no looking back. Please do give it a try.
Storm of Swords was so amazing right? So many plot twists and shocking character deaths.
