Life has improved a lot as I started my new job. I am loving the new team, manager who is extremely soft spoken and the work which is quite interesting. I am trying to learn everything and fit into the new environment. I am definitely not missing my old team and work that I did there. 🙂
I got a new mac from work and I decorated it with stickers of the boy who lived.
Other than that, I haven’t been reading a lot these days. Many books that I started ended up as DNFs as I did not like them. I am not in the mood for high fantasy or hard sci-fi as I am reading a lot of technical documents.
These days we are watching more TV drama than we did in the past few years. Husband and I finished Victoria season 1 and season 2.
It has soon become my favorite TV series in the recent past. It is much better than The Crown series. Victoria and Albert are such an amazing couple. The actors have done a fantastic job. My most favorite character has to be Lord M. For some reason, I loved every scene he was a part of so I was sad when he left. The actor who played that role did such a great job of portraying the role. We also realized that the Australian city Melbourne was named after him (from Wikipedia), thanks to this series.
I did watch the first season of The Crown (about Queen Elizabeth II) but for some reason, I still haven’t seen the second season. Philip sounds like a douchebag and the relationship between Elizabeth and him is something that I did not like. Prince Albert on the other hand, is so supportive of his wife and is never jealous or mean to Victoria. No wonder she ended up as the greatest and most famous Queen.
Other than that, I did watch few movies here and there. I saw Mulan finally, after wanting to watch it for so many years and I loved it. It is one of the best feminist princess movies that Disney has come up with. I am yet to watch the second part. I also saw Alien: Covenant and it was one of the scariest movies I have ever seen. The ending indicates that there will be a sequel and I am sure the sequel is going to be amazing, looking at the way this one ended. Transformers: The Last Knight was pretty boring and I didn’t enjoy it as much as I liked the other parts in this series. I started some other movies but did not finish them.
I am now getting ready for my UK and India trip. I am not sure if you guys noticed that my May Wrap Up did not go up. I will put the wrap up post most likely in July, along with my June Wrap Up (which will have very less number of books).
I will be on a short hiatus from this blog. I will be back in July with more posts.
Cool. Take it easy once in a while. Enjoy your trip to UK and India. And, comeback safe.
