Some positive thoughts

Took this from Facebook. Not sure who created this image. I feel like taking a printout of this poster and pasting it in my room.

By the way, today I was asked this question by husband – “Who do you blog for?”. I said it is for myself. “Then why do you want to publicize or promote your blog in any manner? Why do you even care who reads your blog?”, he said. He had a point, a valid point there.

{ I tried to have a Facebook page for my blog and then gave up on that idea again. Yeah this is the second time I created one and then unpublished it. I think I don’t really need one. Sometimes you see what everyone around you is doing and feel like doing the same. }

On a totally unrelated note, I have seen people refer to “btw” as between. I think not many know that btw is an abbreviation for “by the way”. I sometimes feel like correcting them, but I am afraid they will take offense.

Happy weekend!

  1. I love the, ‘Time heals almost everything.’ – It’s very true.

That question is very valid – why do bloggers yearn for readers? If we are writing for ourselves, we should just write and publish and forget about it. Or we can even write in a notebook (I used to do this, but I showed it to everyone around me!).

Let’s admit that blogging is about appreciating others and being appreciated in return. Maybe we want it because we lack appreciation in our lives? Whatever the reason, we feel good about writing and people commenting on our space, so we do. We can’t keep micro-analyzing every act and complicate *already complicated* life! 🙂

    1. yep, most people say they blog for themselves then why is there a need to publicize through twitter/facebook etc. I think everyone wants to be read. Even I want to be read. But I feel I do not want to publicize my blog on Facebook/Twitter at least for now. If people like my blog, they will anyway follow it I guess.
Agree with you, we must not analyse it too much. 🙂

  2. Exactly what I need. I wouldn’t mind putting this somewhere I can see everyday. Million likes. Thanks for sharing. 🙂

Why would someone confuse btw for between. It doesn’t make much sense.

    1. I loved all the 7 logic too. Want to apply in life.
I think they have seen people use “btw” in sentences and thought its full form is “between”. So I saw few people start sentences as “between, …”.

  3. Agree with all the 7 logics shared here and I must definitely practice 2 of these in my life!
BTW, (the real BTW, I mean 😉 ) I have seen a lot of glaring issues as well, but it is best to ignore because not everyone is receptive to a critique.

  4. Nice post. Excellent points. I did not know some people use “btw” for between. I always used “btw” for by the way. I write blog for myself. I read a few others’ blogs because I like them.

  5. All the points are true, only if we could follow the. I also write what i feel like, if people read it I am happy, but I do not publicise in anyway..nor write from that angle, same goes for reading, I read only those blogs which I like..

  6. AK, you are just too sweet…. tell them that btw is by the way and not between! Remember the times when people corrected you??? 😀

Well, there is always a discussion about why do we blog.. I always feel, that anything we do is for ourselves at the end of the day.. so even if you made the FB page, isn’t that getting people to read what you write, have them discuss over topics and make interesting conversations? It is not always publicity!! I feel! 😛

Your blog is amazing…. if you wont promote, others will, anyway! 🙂

    1. Yeah I should let people know next time I see someone sharing grammatically wrong sentence on Facebook. 🙂
That’s true Mi. You put it so nicely, I now understand why people would want to create FB pages.
Thanks Mi for such lovely words. 🙂
