10 Places I want to see in UK

I recently finished “Notes from a small Island” by Bill Bryson. I did not quite like the book that much, mainly because Bryson is pretty mean and rude to others. But I did get some information about places in UK. Based on that information, I came up with this list to help me when I visit UK. Please add any other place to this list if you found it interesting. People from UK like Bikram can help me out with this list.

Other than the usual places like Buckingham Palace, London Bridge and Stonehenge, I found some more interesting places from this book.

    1. Grave is that of writer George Orwell (my favourite). Thanks for the other recos.
This is for the time being just for day dreaming 🙂 hehe.. will definitely let you know if I ever plan to come 🙂

  1. Thanks… I just got reminded that I didn’t see any of the stuff mentioned here 😦

I saw only the stuff within London coz I was there. Did not even make a trip to Scotland, which is a shame. However I did manage to visit Switzerland. Does that count? 😛

  2. This is a beautiful list. I’ve been to most of these places. White Cliffs of Dover is something I have in my to-do list. Yorkshire Dales is absolutely stunning place, so in North Yorkshire Moors,Peak District and Lake District. I’ve also heard that Leeds Castle (in Kent) and Cornwall are gorgeous places.

  3. Inverness is very beautiful. It was sunny and bright when we went there and I was completely in love with it. 🙂 I live in Edinburgh and I cannot put it into words how beautiful it is. 🙂

Lake district is another beautiful place you may want to add to your list when you visit Scotland, I haven’t been there yet but I surely want to visit. Also the isle of skye, highlands and other isles are beautiful.

York is also amazing, am small city with old old houses, cobblestone roads, narrow lanes which reminded me of diagon alley of harry potter. 🙂

  4. Nice list…might consider adding Diagon Alley (look up for it in London!,
Loch Lomond in Scotland is great too…And Dove Cottage in Grasmere, where Wordsworth lived…see the place and you will understand why hewas so good with his poetry!

  5. I’m a sucker for anything English and I would love to visit those places you’ve mentioned. I have done London- London Eye, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey and Big Ben. I have also visited Belfast in N. Ireland but the places you’ve mentioned, I am waiting to visit.

Dream on and I will also dream along with you.

    Joy always,
