The ghost

My friend Mith, of Twenty-something going on Five, is here. She has been my inspiration to blog seriously. Before that my blog was just a place to rant. The first blog that I was fond of EVER, in the entire blogosphere. I love the header of her blog (go check it out). The best part about her blog is that I can relate to everything that she writes there, the graduate school issues, the ‘Phoreign’ country adventures or the love for books/movies/TV or the crushes (from Robert Pattinson to …). We share it all (even the city) and she is as crazy about the Harry Puttar, as I am. She has been my most favourite blogger ๐Ÿ™‚ but because of the painful school work, she is unable to post regularly these days (I can totally relate to it too, girl). But whenever she comes up with a post, I run at 50mph speed go to her blog immediately to read. And I was so happy when she said she had a post for me ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks soooo much Mith. You are the most funny/witty blogger I have ever seen ๐Ÿ™‚ And here is a funny story from her. Yayy!! My blog is lucky, very lucky.
Here are some of her posts that I just looooved reading (not a very exhaustive list)

  1. Things you probably shouldnt do
  2. I-cannot-be-bothered-to-think-of-a-title-for-this
  3. Why women make better conversationalists
  4. Thursday thirteen series

โ€œIt was a dark, cloudy night. Not a single star was visible in the sky. The street was as silent as a graveyardโ€ฆโ€

โ€œSTOP IT!โ€

โ€œStop reading that story out loud!โ€
โ€œHey, you were the one who said he was bored. I thought a story might liven things up a bitโ€ฆโ€

โ€œNot this story, okay? Anything but a ghost story, especially considering the situation we are in right now.โ€

โ€œSheesh. Okay, okay. Keep your pants onโ€ฆโ€

19-year old twins, Peter and Riley were driving along in the middle of the night to their auntโ€™s house. Peter, the older of the two, was the sensitive one. He had always been afraid of the dark and everything that came with it – creepy-crawlies, the boogeyman, ghostsโ€ฆ you name it โ€“ and today was no different. Riley, on the other hand, was the braver of the two. He didnโ€™t really believe in ghosts and such like, and privately thought his brother was over-reacting.

โ€œItโ€™s your fault we are in this mess right now,โ€ Peter, who was driving, said presently. โ€œYou know that right? If you werenโ€™t so late we wouldnโ€™t have missed the train and we wouldnโ€™t have had to rent this pathetic excuse for a car and we wouldnโ€™t have had to drive all the way over to Aunt Cathyโ€™s place for Thanksgiving dinner IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT! You know that right?โ€ Peter threw his brother a venomous look.

โ€œI did say Iโ€™m sorry, didnโ€™t I?โ€ said Riley not sounding sorry at all. โ€œDonโ€™t nag. Stop acting like Mumโ€ฆโ€

Peter gnashed his teeth and an uneasy silence fell over the twins. As Peter rounded a corner, the carโ€™s headlights lit up the road ahead and revealed a white object that seemed to be moving. Peter immediately hit the brakes.

As the twins squinted to get a better look, they saw that the white thing had hands and legs and even a face! It seemed to be moving towards them, all the while pointing and gesturing wildly with its hands.

As they had been talking about nothing else for the past half hour, only one thought leapt into their minds. Both of them looked at each other and screamed at the same time.

Peter hit the accelerator while Riley yelled, โ€œI thought they didnโ€™t exist but Iโ€™m a believer now! GO! GO! GO!โ€

And almost hitting the object in question, they drove away from there as though their lives depended on it, without looking back even once.

Meanwhile, the white โ€œobjectโ€ was removing the hood of a white parka from its head.

โ€œDamn!โ€ the man muttered. โ€œNever even got a chance to ask for a lift. Why did they have to drive off like that, anyway? Brrrโ€ฆHope the next car comes by pretty soon, Iโ€™m freezing!โ€
