I love Sam Gamgee

I had posted some LOTR quotes here earlier.. I watched all the three movies again back to back (which meant that I spent one whole day – from morning 11 to night 11 watching them 😛 ).. I am mad about LOTR.. I loveeee the story, the plot, literally EVERYTHING about it… This time I noticed that I liked more quotes/dialogues from the movie.. Here are some for LOTR fans that I missed out on earlier.. Most of them are Sam’s since I like him the best…

From “The two towers“:
Sam: It’s me. It’s your Sam.
Don’t you know your Sam?
Frodo: I can’t do this, Sam.
Sam: I know. It’s all wrong. By rights, we shouldn’t even be here. But we are. It’s like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger, they were. And sometimes you didn’t want to know the end. Because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was.. when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it’s only a passing thing… this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines, it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you… that meant something. Even if you were too small to understand why. But I think Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn’t. They kept going because they were holding on to something.
Frodo: What are we holding onto, Sam?
Sam: That there’s some good in this world, Mr. Frodo. And it’s worth fighting for.

Frodo: No, Sam. I can’t recall the taste of food… nor the sound of water… nor the touch of grass. I’m… naked in the dark, with nothing, no veil… between me… and the wheel of fire! I can see him… with my waking eyes!
Sam: Then let us be rid of it… once and for all! Come on, Mr. Frodo. I can’t carry it for you… but I can carry you!

I love, love, love SAMWISE GAMGEE’s character so much… He is the nicest and best friend that anyone can ever have (I know I am repeating my words)… but I cant help myself from liking him a lot.. I was about to cry looking at him cry when Frodo believes in what the Gollum says and he says this:
“Frodo: No, Sam. It’s you. I’m sorry, Sam.
Sam: But he’s a liar. He’s poisoned you against me.
Frodo: You can’t help me anymore.
Sam: You don’t mean that.
Frodo: Go home. ”
I mean, without Sam’s encouragement and support, do you think Frodo could have succeeded in this journey? Nope, never!
