Setting ablaze

Living independently requires you to learn cooking.. I never ever entered the kitchen in my life before (not even to get water) and suddenly was made to cook 😮 You can imagine the situation! Initially it used to so spicy that I would keep a chocolate with me for emergency situations 😛 Now kinda improved though not a good cook yet.. Nothing can beat mom’s cooking.. Recently my roomie and I thought of frying some paapad.. This was my first experiment with “frying in oil”.. Had never fried anything so far.. My roomie is also of my category so had no problem (or should I say more problem).. Anyways, we started with our experiment.. The paapad as expected got burnt.. I was least surprised.. Then it kinda stabilized and stopped becoming black..rather, I prevented it from becoming black.. I fried few and was contented.. Then my roomie thought of frying some.. After a few mins she started shouting.. I ran to the place to see that a plastic plate on which she was placing the fried paapads had caught fire :)) All my other roomies came too..

She was so scared that she dint even think of extinguishing the fire.. The houses here are built with wood.. Fire was the most dangerous thing that could ever happen.. I boldly kept the plate under the tap and turned on the tap…Such a fire was again set ablaze when we were trying to fry pooris and just yesterday once again by us..

I think I have become quite bold these days owing to the fact that I do not have mom or dad to run to when I am in danger.. Girl who had never ever killed even a cockroach can kill scorpions these days.. Gosh!! I am proud of myself.. Mom was the official cockroach hunter at home.. I have become scorpion hunter B-) I have a record of killing 4-5 of them already since every other person was scared to.. Now I can kill any insect in the world 😀

Bark scorpion (Commonly found in AZ)

This scorpion is supposed to be deadly and it is just one to one and a half inches in length making it really difficult to spot especially since our carpet was of the same color. Thankfully, I survived the attack (nevertheless, exams themselves were worse than such bites) whereas my friend did get bitten once..And the apartment people had nothing to say about it.. It seems there is no chemical available which can kill a scorpion. They would just come and spray some stupid chemical which was just supposed to kill the insects that a scorpion feeds upon..Because of lack of food, probably it started attacking humans.. The apartment people warned us of a black spider which was also supposed to be very common in Arizona.. It was supposed to be very deadly and had no antidote…Those were the scary days when I would dream about being bitten by one such creature.. Now that I am at a safe place with no such wild creatures, I can heave a sigh of relief..
